DJ Slick Vick, Beats By Girlz Teaching Artist

"[Beats By Girlz] has been such a great journey because I've always wanted to give back to the community, especially to young girls, women of color. So, I think it was kind of like fate we connected. It's been such a great experience since partnering with Beats By Girlz Boston. I feel like they've been the missing piece of the puzzle in the creative scene in Boston."

From May to october, BBG Boston offered free adult workshops on vocal processing, vcv synth, live sound, djing 101, and rap songwriting.

"I've always really thrived as a learner in a classroom environment and when you age out you don't get to go to school anymore unless you pay lots and lots and lots of money. so when I found out that Beats By Girlz has workshops and education opportunities for adults I was like, 'yes, I don't have to miss out...' it's been really, really cool to be an adult learner"
