WMN FEST RECAP

WMN Fest

On Saturday, August 24th 2024, We Make Noise Boston held its second WMN Fest, presented by MASS NOW. WMN Fest was a celebration of women and gender-expansive musicians, artists, and makers in the Greater Boston area. Hosted by the Boston Chapter of We Make Noise, this festival is a one day event that is free, celebrating local creators and empowering women and gender-expansive people to take up space in the cultural sector. Notoriously, the music industry gatekeeps opportunities for gender minorities, and WMN Fest is a small step towards opening those gates and providing empowering professional experiences to our community. WMN Fest is made by and for women and gender-expansive people and all genders are welcome to attend.

The outdoor festival featured two stages and took place from 11am to 8:00pm and included  performances from
OompaCakeswagg, Lisa Bello, Naomi Westwater, Külname, Daniela Gómez, Amanda Shea, Kim Moberg, Gabriella Simpkins, Analise, Dogtailcorners, and Ladybugg.  The festival is open to the public. WMN Fest is made possible by Bid Boston and the Boston Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture. Stay tuned for details on WMN Fest 2024!

WMN BOSTON CAMP feat. Odie Leigh

October 2024
We Make Noise Boston hosted its second We Make Noise Boston Camp a songwriting and production camp featuring TikTok sensation, Odie Leigh. For 3 days, We Make Noise Boston took over The Record Co. and over 30 women and gender-expansive people ages 18 to 40 wrote and produced music together. Songwriting and production camps are great networking and work opportunities and traditionally gate kept in the music industry. The We Make Noise Boston Camp opens doors for gender minorities to get real life experience writing and collaborating with an artist.
